Our coaches are here to help players of all levels build confidence, improve, enjoy the game, build understanding and connect with others. Combining experience, insight, and a passion for golf and people, they’re not just teaching swings — they’re helping shape Tauranga’s indoor golf community and the next generation of golfers.
Andrew Gurney
Andrew is our Head Coach here at The Clubhouse, also known as “The Mad Scientist”.
With over 20 years of coaching experience and an obsession with golf swing mechanics, his coaching philosophy centres on the individual.
He believes every person has their own unique swing — one that is perfectly suited to their body and ability.
We are excited to have Coach Gurney on board, as we believe his people-first approach aligns with our vision for both players and coaches.

Scott Curtis
Scott joins us as one of our Associate Coaches, working alongside Andrew Gurney. A lifelong sportsman, he grew up playing whatever was on offer before eventually finding golf — and getting completely hooked. For Scott, though, it’s always been about more than just the game.
He’s big on relationships and understands that real improvement happens when trust is built, conversations are honest, and players feel genuinely supported. His coaching centres on connection — creating an environment where people feel comfortable, challenged, and part of something bigger than themselves.
Scott is passionate about shaping not just better golfers, but a stronger community within The Clubhouse. His focus on building genuine connection helps turn shared practice into shared progress — and that’s exactly the kind of environment we’re committed to creating.

ASSOCIATE COACH
Stacey Koppens is a passionate and inclusive golf coach dedicated to growing the game at every level. With a strong focus on women, juniors, and beginner golfers, Stacey creates fun, welcoming environments where players feel confident to learn, play, and belong.
Her coaching philosophy is built around enjoyment, practical skill development, and learning through the game itself. Stacey specialises in delivering engaging programs that remove intimidation from golf, helping players build real confidence rather than just technical perfection.
From junior development and women’s participation programs to individual coaching and playing pathways, Stacey is committed to making golf accessible, social, rewarding and to building a community at The Clubhouse.
